Wow. I was quivering leaving the theater. That was definitely the best movie I've seen in a long time. Heath ledger is a GOD among men, and now, will be immortalized (at least in my mind) as the best joker.
A few minor complaints though. First, the story took a turn from the comics. I didn't really expect an homage to the fans, and I was happy they went in a different direction with the characters.
Second, I know that the style of the last batman movie and this movie is meant to mimic a comic (sort of) and be fast, having sharp transitions, but there were parts in the movie that the effect became jarring. This happened especially between scenes with completely different tones. This was worse for my me and my friends because we were sitting in the fourth row (lack of seats).
Third, the movie has multiple climaxes. This can be done properly, but only if both plotlines are fully developed in a valley-format. Mission Impossible had a huge action moment at the beginning, and then still had time in the movie for a rising action till the climax at the end. But in Batman, there are literally places where you think "omg this is the best part" multiple times. It gets a little exhausting, and the way the plot goes, the last climax is a little less a "big deal" than the first ones.
Despite these minor problems, it seriously was an amazing movie. I'm seeing it again.
