Bad pacing and handling of material.

Overall I was disappointed with this movie. Granted there was a lot to pack in. But it wasn't just that things were left out, but it was the way they handled what they put in the movie that bothered me. Storyline wise, Snape was treated far too simplistically. so much time in the beginning of the movie trying to be funny (which aside from the love potion scene fell flat most of the time) that they didn't even have time to add in some other important book details. As well, possibly attempting the dark and foreboding mood of the last couple of books, the pace felt incredibly slow.
make it a matinee so you can save a few extra bucks.
