I managed to stay awake for most of the movie...
It took a bit of time to set up the story and then bogged down until we are introduced to the The Mad Hatter - Johnny Depp. Though he is not the star of the movie, he at least held my interest until we meet the Red Queen.

I was never an avid fan of MJ all the years he became famous. Usually too "pop" for my tastes. This feature made me change my mind.
Between the amazing dance moves and his unbelievable voice, I sat in the theater and felt a loss for not ever seeing him perform live.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

From the moment the movie begins, you are drawn into the story that begins a stellar rollercoaster ride. I'm never fond of lengthly movies, but this movie continues to maintain storyline focus and great performances. I was exhausted when it finished.
