I had high expectations to begin with - this did not disappoint. I enjoyed Batman Begins, this topped it in many ways. After hearing all the buzz around Heath Ledger, I was prepared to think it would be all sympathy good reviews. But he was phenomenal. There was not a trace of Heath in that performance. He completely got lost in the role and gave a new take on a well loved character. Christian Bale once again was great as both Bruce Wayne and the Batman. The duality of the characters was great. Maggie Gyllenhal was an amazing addition to the film, and made the character Rachel Dawes, which fell flat with Katie Holmes interpretation in the first film, a genuine and real. Aaron Eckhart was amazing as Harvey Dent, and Michael Caine was great as Alfred. Well played movie - great effects, great opening - great twists. For someone who usually hates superhero movies, this will be very hard to top!
