I was a little skeptical before I saw it, since many movies these days don't live up to the hype that surrounds them before opening weekend. I also thought that there was no way Heath Ledger could be as great in it as the critics had trumpeted. Well, the movie was better than the hype, and Ledger was amazing. I completely forgot it was him (obviously he didn't look or talk like himself) as he was devilishly evil -- which means he played his role brilliantly. The plot was intricate and clever, and it didn't seem as long as it was. I feel that Christian Bale didn't get enough credit; he was great as well and was more human in this one as he showed more emotion and battled his own self-worth. My only complaint was that it was difficult to hear the dialogue in some scenes, since the music and explosions overcame them, but that may have just been the theater and not the movie itself. I will definitely buy the DVD.
