While giving an accurate description of Dali's life in Madrid and in Catalonia, the film-maker also has an overall theme which is NOT biographical - that true genius requires sharp intellectual stimulation to be motivated reach it's peak and cannot fully flower in a vacuum. The stimulation in Dalis' life comes from Federico Garcia-Lorca of Andalusia in more than one way. , The contrast of the lifestyles and life goals of the two is magnificently drawn in this movie. I went to see it with someone who was actually a visitor in Dali's Catalonian home, and she indicated that the movie include scenes actually shot inside his real home. Arrow
If you like sophisticated French comedy, this is one of the better ones. The depiction of the scenery, and the nonsensical fashion in which the residents and their "friends" on the Riviera are joked about is riotous at times.
