While similar to the first -- it has new things and is sooooo funny. Ken Jeong is wonderful. One of the few movies that will make you laugh out loud. I really enjoyed it. Not for prudes though -- a bit dirtier than the first...but it's funny dirty. Loved that.
It was funny -- Depp was wonderful. It certainly wasn't the best of all the Pirate movies. Somehow Penelope Cruz irritated me. I looked at my watch more than once during the movie --- I wish it was better. I was hoping for more.
First off, I'm over 30 and not a fan. I went as a promise to a diehard fan, but even she was not impressed. The editor needs to be shot -- it's way too long. The wolves are so big, they're laughable. The acting is mediocore at best. This will never win any awards. The moments of Pattinson and Stewart staring into eachothers eyes nearly made me fall asleep and made me want to pluck his eyebrows... I was bored. I only hope I never promise to take someone to see any of the other ones.
I went into the theatre expecting to be blown away, and I was -- by the colors and scenery. Trouble is, I'm not a 'computer graphics' fan. I don't like anime or cartoon movies. This reminded me of those. Story line was one done 100 times (think District 9, which I loved). Actors were all very good. Colors beautiful. 3D gave me a headache as did the crying baby in the theatre. Yes, go see it. It's good, but I prefer more "real" movies.
Great action packed movie. Downey was brilliant. He and Jude Law had great chemistry as did he and Rachel McAdams. Really funny and clever. And the end left it wide open for a sequel, which I can't wait to see.
I loved this movie, especially the pot smoking scenes! It was funny and the scenery was beautiful. Meryl Streep was excellent as always (she's really getting old tho!) and Alec Baldwin was hysterical. The young man who played the daughter's fiance was fantastic and stole the show. It made me laugh and not many movies do that anymore. And it was original -- not a redo of some old movie. Go see it!
While I did enjoy this movie, I found it to be a bit depressing. Especially the ending. As someone who's been thru downsizing twice, that part was accurate and hit it's point. I just didn't want to have to relive those times in my life. Clooney was good, as he always is. The chemistry between him and his co-stars was wonderful. It's just the subject matter -- not an uplifiting movie.
This movie does not disappoint. You can actually imagine this happening in the world, exactly as it does in the movie. Very powerful movie and it leaves it open for a prequel and more sequels. I will not miss them!
I didn't think Bruno could surpass Borat, but it does. It totally makes fun and brings to light the narrow minded stereotypical good old boy, while introducing the audience to a seldom revealed side of SOME culture. Im sure some ppl will be offended; they shouldn't be, the ending song demonsrates how ridiculous predjudice is. I was surprised to see so many kids -- ages 14 there. With parents and without. It's a movie that may need explanation to the kiddies. Also surprised it got an R rating. Some almost X scenes were hysterical. I understand they changed the endng 3 times...glad they settled on the one they did.
