When I first heard about this movie, my reaction was "Oh... Star Trek 90210." It is far from it. The movie had everything you'd want from a big budget summer blockbuster and then some. The young cast did an excellent job in their roles. There was both respect paid to the original roles and allowance made for a reinvention of those roles with the new actors. The minor quibble I had was the villain seemed a little mundane and underdeveloped, but that was understandable considering the amount of character development and background material they had to cover.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
