Smart dialogue. Plot is serviceable if incidental. Performances are thoroughly engaging. Christian Bale rocks. Props for casting a real woman, not a mannequin, in the female lead; Maggie Gyllenhaal is thoroughly alive. But this movie belongs to the brilliant Heath Ledger.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
