Not a kids movie

Not a kid-friendly movie. Not even adult friendly in my opinion. I walked in with high hopes and was utterly disappointed. The movie drug on with excruciatingly slow pacing. There were many cases when humor would have been appropriate, yet awkwardness and sadness was chosen instead. My girlfriend liked it, for the introspective look at troubled kids. We both agreed, though, that it was not a movie for kids. Which we found out the hard way trying to keep our 5 year old in his seat for the duration of this yawnfest.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
