This adaptation of storyline from the Batman saga is simply one of the best ever done. While there were still ample effects requisite to any action film, this one went further. Atypical to many action films, there is a strong sense of character development; even compared to the previous Batman movies. Equally intriguing is the apparent social commentary played out toward the end in the Joker's last act of mayhem. And, of course, there is the Joker himself. I was very interested in seeing how Ledger would play the role, given Nicholson's wonderful portrayal of the character before. The late actor did not disappoint. His rendition of the Joker is captivating. The detached, psychotic, sociopathic man you see on the screen is beyond convincing. In all, this was a masterful addition to the saga we have loved for so long.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
