When I saw the 1st trailer for this movie I really didn't know what to think of it. After seeing the 2nd trailer it really got me interested in the premise of it.
i was not disappointed! Very good story(as long as you ignore the political statement haha) and I thought the acting and effects were done very well. Really got pulled in to the emotional aspect of it as you got vested in the characters and their plight.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors, special effects
This was a much better movie than the original Wolverine movie. The story was better thought and showed more of his backstory. Although the Silver Samurai was cool, I was a little let down that it wasn't more like it was in the comics. But that is just a personal opinion. Hugh as Wolverine portrays Wolverine once again just like you would imagine out of the comics themselves. Worth seeing.
My friends and I were thrilled to find out that our local theater was showing Oblivion early on Thursday evening before it came out on Friday.
From the beginning the movie caught my attention as the landscape was amazing! They did an outstanding job taking full effect of this being shown in an Imax environment.
There are several twists int he story and you will never see it coming. But I thought the story, acting everything was very well done.
As a person who has been collecting and reading comics for 38 years, I was really looking forward to Nolan's last movei in his trilogy.
When I 1st heard that Bane was the villain in this 1 I had my doubts as to wether he could carry a movie as the villain. But I was pleasantly surprised. As Batman's antagonist he brought it. Of course the hollywoodized his background and his actual powers(no venom juice and bulking up), but it still worked for me.
I really enjoyed the whole movie, right until the ending. Now dont get me wrong, it was ok how it ended. But I dont like knowing that this was the last 1, of Nolan's anyway. Before someone else picks it up. And we are left to wonder exactly what happens to "Robin" after all goes black. 1 of my friends that was with us said, Oh the next 1 will pick up where this left off. Not necessarily. Look at Nolan's. He rebooted the whole thing. And the recent Amazing Spiderman did the same thing. So we are probably going to be left hanging and never know what happens next. Just a odd thing to do to us instead of a cut and dry last scene.
Again, It doesn't break the movie for me, just left me feeling like I never reached the finish line.
AS a person who has collected comics for the better part of 30 years, I thought this stayed very true to the relationships and ideals that have been portrayed in the Xmen comics over the years. Although these are not the true "1st Class' of Xmen, I felt like they did a very good job working it in as they did. And actually tying it into actual history to make the story more viable.
Heartbreaking to watch Charles take the bullet and the look of shock on Eric's face when it happens and realizes, after Charles tells him, that HE is the 1 that caused it.
went last night with a bunch of friends to see. Everyone was really pumped about the movie.
I think that it was a worthy succesor to the 1st film, but it didnt raise the bar any. Part of that, I suppose, could be it not having that wow factor that the 1st 1 had of seeing ironman on the big screen for the 1st time.
I wish they wouold've had more ironman/whiplash fighting. it seemed that the 2 fight scenes with Whiplash were very short. And I didnt like his costume at the end very much. An ironwhiplash? Didnt work for me.
Black Widow(shes never called that..why?) was really good when she was in her role and not the undercover girl.
Robert really captures Tony Stark and his aloofness and cockiness.
Overall a good film I think. Cant wait for the next 1 to come out..Thor!
I went into this movie expecting what I got. A action flick that wound itself loosely around the actual facts in the Wolverine comics.
I know, some of the facts are squewed a bit. But you have to remember that probably the majority of the veiwers dont read the comic books that he is based on. Same iwth all the other "hero" movies they make. We shouldnt get all worked over some nitpicky stuff.
And yes I COULD get nitpicky as I watched it. I went with some non comic reading folks and they asked questions and I had to explain some stuff that wasnt correct, but didnt hurt the movie. And Im a comic collector for the last 35 years.
All that said. I give it 2 thumbs up for an entertaining movie. Worth going to.
Took the family(me , wife and 3 boys 13,9,8) to see it in 3D last night. The 3D aspect of it was the best I've seen. Even the preview of "Chance of Meatballs" was an awesome 3D experience.
The characters were well played. Loved Southerland playing the General. You had to listen to hear "him", but was hilarious.
Kids laughed throughout and there was enough "adult" gags for us parents as well. Colbert as Prez. was a good call. Loved when he tried to "talk" to the alien.
