The Dark Knight

I would give this movie a grade of B, and recommend it with reservations. It was a disappointment after all the prerelease hype and buildup.
Other than very outstanding acting talent in the major roles, it didn't really have much to set it apart from other ultra-big-budget, high tech action movies.
There were plenty of explosions and fights, but...big deal. Rambo has these too. The story was hard to follow and I found myself close to boredom a couple of times.
Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker was excellent, over-the-top, and creepily believable...overall, it carried the movie.
Christian Bale is the best actor yet for the lead role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Micheal Caine was great as Alfred, as was Morgan Freeman in his part...these two actors are among the best of the older generation.
The other leading and support roles were excellently-played also.
IMO, Batman Begins was an A+ movie, with a much better story and more overall depth and character than The Dark Knight.
Batman was my favorite childhood comic-book hero ...I hope there are more movies and the next one is better.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
