The Dark and Sinister Knight

Pros:
*Heath Ledger gives a stunning performance that is rich in character development. You can see the work that was put into creating the Joker persona.
*Special effects are amazing and nearly seamless.
*Action sequences are rich in detail and almost back-to-back
Cons:
*Christian Bale's performance lacks some of the creativity explored in Batman Begins. He seems unable to decide what to do with the character of Bruce Wayne.
*Maggie Gyllenhaal fails to have any connection with either love interest. And (probably due to makeup and lighting) she looks too old for the part.
*The final 1/2 hour of the movie seems to drag. Introducing - and defeating - a villian with in the last 30 minutes was a mistake. The Two Face plot point appears to have been thrown in without regard to the pacing of the movie.
All in all, a great summer movie. It fulfills the expectation for action, adventure and fun...all with a sinister twist that further validates the remaking of a classic.
