I loved, loved, loved this movie. I actually said I loved the movie three times when I finished watching it. I never read the comic book but I did do my research before the movie. After seeing it, my boyfriend and I plan on seeing it again and for the first time ever, I will purchase a comic book!
I read the books and became addicted to them. I enjoyed them because I looked beyond the supernatural aspect of it and related to it. The movie was ok, but could've been better. The most charming scenes in the book were sped up in the movie which gave it an "after school special" kind of feel. It seemed that the director and producers tried too hard to get an audience of boys along with girls and ended up making the movie too dramatic. Granted it's teenagers and they get overdramatic anyway but I hope for the next movie, they accept the fact that at it's core, the Twilight series are chick lit and the audience to be expected are mainly women.
This was an excellent movie! I wouldn't say it was better than Batman Begins because they were both equally good in my opinion. Heath Ledger's performance was phenomenal, (when I first saw the preview I couldn't believe it was him), sadly it was the first and last time to see him in such a juicy role. He deserves an oscar dead or not.
