Christopher Nolan again shows why he is the best ever to bring classic Comic Book characters to the silver screen. He has great respect for the characters' mythos and does not view them as "10-cent comic book souls." Non-stop roller coaster action and good dialogue. The Joker: truly at his maniacal best. A real shame Heath Ledger cannot reprise this role. The other characters hold their own in a film that they easily could have lost their way. My only gripe: The last third of the film was overlong and a little contrived. Doesn't really matter. If you see only one movie this summer, make it The Dark Knight.
