Shrek Forever After has a familiar ring for anyone that has ever watched the Frank Capra Christmas Holiday favorite, “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
Married life starts out well enough, but soon Shrek begins to experience a mid-life crisis. That’s when he meets up with Rumpelstiltskin who offers Shrek a deal.
What follows is what would have happened if Shrek had never been born. Rumpelstiltskin plays the role of the notorious Henry f. Potter and turns Far Far Away into a medieval Fairytale Pottersville. Shrek desperately tries to figure out what has happened to him and tries to get his life back.
Gran Torino is classic Eastwood that has been aged like a fine wine. He was predictable yet surprising, funny and gut wrenching. Unfortunately the audience that left as soon as the credits started to roll missed the rare musical incite of Eastwood as he sung the closing title song which he also co-wrote.
