Avatar in 3D was a very entertaining movie experience. I left the theater thoroughly pleased. However, I don't believe that it is the "ground breaking epic" that other reviews/web sites have hyped it up to be (hence the 4/5 rating rather than a perfect 5/5) .
This movie is beautifully done, the CG characters and environements are lush and vibrant, though a bit video gam-ish at times. The characters are easy to relate to and can really draw you into the story. The plot, however seems borrowed: a fusion of Sci-Fi and Dances With Wolves, with a touch of Last Samurai thrown into the mix. Avatar is worth seeing in 3D, but expect to be highly entertained, not blown away.
