If you saw Despicable Me, I wouldn't rush out to see Megamind. I've been anticipating this movie for weeks, but the story is slow and many of us have been there and done that ad nausea with the theme. Kids may love it. Adults....save your money. Imax 3D - if you have to see this movie in Imax 3D, enjoy the fantastic sound in the theatre. There weren't any exciting 3D visuals so 2D with good sound or waiting to rent at home will offer the same pleasure. At best, the 3D technology offers better depth in wide city shots and makes you feel like your standing in the scene, yet the cost to be there isn't worth it. I had hoped Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, and Jonah Hill would strengthen the lines, but with all of that talent, the story fell flat and slow at times. Pixar is always worth a look but not at IMAX 3D $$$ for Megamind.
Saw this movie at the Bridge. Couldn't decide between Row D and K. Row D was the fourth row and fairly upclose. Think about whether you like to feel like your in the scene or if you like to see the entire scene. a Six story 70MM screen if tough to see all of regardless but here is what I have to say about Row D - the movie was intense, terrifying, and engaging for the full 2.5 hours. I want to see it again and wonder what it would feel like from Row E or G. Don't go too far back if you like the idea of being there. I loved it. Can't say enough about the movie and the IMAX experience. The make-up and effects were superb. A MUST SEE IMAX experience!
