Very good, but not great

For casual fans, it's a great movie. Acting is good, has good action and humor. The plot is a bit thin, just try not to analyze too much.
If you're a die-hard fan, you're going to struggle with this one. Without throwing spoilers I can't support this here...but you'll know it when you see it. Some touches from long-time fans could have really helped close some gaps and made it a great movie
Special note - I saw this in the IMAX presentation, but a lot of the scenes are shot in a super-close "shaky cam" handheld style. IMAX size with that format is not a good combination.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great flick, great story, excellent visuals

This is a great movie, with amazing visuals, a compelling story, and good acting.
The negative reviews are from people who think a movie about costumed heroes must be family friendly. It's rated R people!
It *is* gritty, violent, visceral and intense because it's supposed to be. The "heroes" are human, they have sex, they have problems, they're angry and disturbed, they go too far trying to help people...and make mistakes.
The sex is relatively tame, and appropriate to the story. Anyone who compares it to a xxx movie has clearly never seen one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
