Good Action Film; Needed Better Villain

Iron Man 2 was a solid action film. Robert Downey Jr. did a fantastic job once again as Tony Stark/Iron Man, injecting a humorous quality into his character that made him so enjoyable to watch. Don Cheadle was excellent as the confliction his character had between his loyalty to the government and his best friend came shining through. Sam Rockwell's performance was good, although I think a little reserved.
I wish we could have seen more of Mickey Rourke. His motivation in destroying Stark was understandable but we saw little of him except in a few key moments...and he was the bad guy! The ending face-off between him and Iron Man was rather limited as well. We didn't see the true potential of his creation. His "minions" took most of the screen time in the battle scenes.
There were a couple of slow periods in the middle of the film, and one touching moment involving Stark's father that brought me to tears. A cameo by the late Adam Goldstein (DJ AM) was nice as well.
Overall, it was a good film. There were some good fight sequences, lots of explosions, humor throughout (but not too strong or campy), and of course, the gadgets. All of this made Iron Man 2 fun to watch. Be sure to stick around for the end credits. As with the first Iron Man, there's a scene at the end that hints as to what's next!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Quantum of Solace Typical Bond Fare

I know QOS had mixed reviews, but as an avid Bond fan, I wouldn't miss the opportunity. Many reviews say the plot lacks substance, but Bond films never really had a plot. Moonraker, anyone?
QOS follows the usual formula: evil group seeks domination with billions of $$$ + car chases and explosions + Bond girl + dashing, quick-witted agent = good entertainment all around. Overall, I thought it was a great film. The chase sequences had the "shaky cam," which makes the action hard to follow. It could have been minimized. I felt shaken AND stirred!
Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench were superb. The venues were breath-taking. Casino Royale's loose ends all tied up. Who knows where Bond goes next? Wherever it is, I'll be waiting!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
