I was not disappointed at all with this remake. While it was more like the original than Friday The 13th was, it was really well done and they didn't try to stick a lot of blood in there to compensate. Jackie Earle Haley was excellent and I loved that they made you question whether or not he was innocent, giving an entirely different reason for the killings.
I went there with my daughter and I thought that, even though I'm not a fan, it was just about as good as actually being at a concert and that it made up for so many fans not getting to attend their concert.
This movie was definitely the best movie of the Summer. It was very dark and disturbing, but kept your attention the entire 2 1/2 hours. Heath Ledger's final role was probably his best role ever as he disturbingly pulls off the Joker. Christian Bale was excellent as always.
