-- SPOILER ALERT --- I took my wife to this movie thinking it'd be a fun date for the two of us. No doubt, the movie delivered the laughs. Vince Vaughn is always good for a laugh. I was hesitant to go see it because it said "some sexual humor," but I acquiesced and said, well, it is PG-13. No way was this for a 13 year old -- or for an adult for that matter. Granted, they didn't cuss that much in the movie, but they certainly were overtly sexual and in very inappropriate ways. I mean, to the extreme in some cases. I was highly offended by the mockery of the Christian church -- a charismatic moviement church. Making fun of Christianity isn't funny -- making light of people in situations is.
No doubt, Jason Statham - is a master at his art. I was dissapointed that the focus of this movie was about the relationship with a woman rather than the mission.
The overall mission to "save" a daughter who is h0rny strikes similar to the movie Hitman.
The interaction with the French Man (Francois Berléand) was less than interesting and played very little part in the film.
This movie was just not what I expected. The action was weak and the premise behind the movie was less than interesting. I expect a lot more from this franchise. I guess the numbers at the box office show that most people agree with me.
I am highly impressed with this movie. Pleasently surprised with how good it was. The story line was great, the acting was great, the special effects were great, the ending was great, the entire movie, beginning to end, was great.
I'll start off with, I'm not a fan of Brendan Fraser. However, I watched this movie becuase I really like Jet Li and more "action" oriented movies.
As with all other Mummy movies -- I've seen the trilogy at this point -- corny-ness abounts -- but it wasn't as corny as the other ones, and that made me happy.
Isabella Leong as Lin, was a refreshing addition to this cast. She is HOT -- and a very good actress. She played her part with passion and did very well with the martial arts sequences.
Luke Ford as Rick's son was just not believable. He looked too old. Brendan (aka Rick) does not look old enough to have a child that looks as old as Luke Ford. However, Fraser's cast-mate, Maria Bello, does. Strange that way.
Overall -- great action pick. Mildly corny, at times funny - and one VERY HOT actress make it well worth the 4 dollars I paid at an AMC A.M. Cinema showing.
