This is just what this franchise needed, an infusion of fresh blood. Not only that, the director was a self-admitted non-trekkie. A fresh objective eye made all the difference in the world...OK now that I am done waxing poetic, this movie suceeds becasue it is not tethered to the 40+ years of history that preceeded it and that much is even explianed very cleverly in this film. A fun summer popcorn flick that will hopefully spawn 5 or six incarnations. We will see!

Ok all fanboy gush aside...this movie was amazing. Heath Ledger, if her was even in the movie, stole every scene even the ones he wasnt in! What I mean is that you forget who the actor is playing this psychopath. He is absolutely lost in his performance. Every second he is not on screen you are wishing he was. I grew knowing the only joker for me was Jack! This is no longer the case. Visually the movie is stunning...BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY NOD! Heath will most definately get tapped for best supporting...How could he not his joker was amazing.

Great Start to a Packed Summer

With so many options for the casual and seasoned movie fan to choose from this summer beit iron cod pieces, black rubber cod pieces, or video games about hookers, car thieves and cop killers...Iron surely delivered the goods. Downey nailed a character that I initially was beyond his abilities. This movie suceeds where most fail. A genuinely likable flawed character with a believeable conscious. This absolutely gets two thumbs from me.
