A style of flick very new to Scorsese and occasionally it shows. Nonetheless a very good movie that will keep you guessing even after you leave the theatre.
The Dark Knight dropped any sort of notion that a superhero movie has to be cartoonish, filled with corny punch lines, or targeted towards a younger audience. The Dark Knight is an amazing crime drama filled with suspense and unseen plot twists. Heath Ledger brings something into the movie that I have never seen before nor can I put my finger on. All of the other ctors do an amazing job likewise. I left the movie with an odd sense of inspiration and hopelessness. I would recommend this movie to anyone. And i give it a 10/10
I expected more from this Hellboy than the last (which was absolutely horrendous) because Guiellermo del Toro had better established himself as a director and writer who could capture the minds and hearts of the audience with myth & mystery. Unfortunately he fell way short. His vision for the use of mythical creatures creatively was above par and extremely captivating. But the writing fell way short. He wrote the script for an unintelligent audience. Several lines and several scenes in the movie left one wondering, "how stupid does he think we are" or "there could have been a dozen better ways he could have written that scene." And a good move should never make you think those things. Overall I give it a 5/10.
