As a 30 something female that has just finished the first book, the movie had several let downs for me personally. When reading the book from an adult's perspective, it is easy to imagine the story line in more dramatic and sinister way, to liken the characters to more of those in an "Interview with a Vampire". I felt like other reviewers that some of the details that made the book believable and great, were not explored fully enough. The characters of Alice and Jacob were not as fully developed as I would of hoped. As a movie as a whole, I think it delivered to the crowd it was designed to server - tweens. I am glad I went see the movie, but would love to see a more adult version with more intensity.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
