I don't understand why so many people liked this movie. It was disturbingly violent, and toward children yet. Everyone but Jamal were murdering thugs. It made India look like a dark, evil place run by mafia types. The only redeeming part of the storyline was that it had somewhat of a happy ending. But it's likely that 2 people having been through what Jamal & Lakita went through could never live happily ever after. Their entire lives would be filled with Post tramatic stress. Such a dark, negative path to get a simple-minded message across.
I'm a fan of Glenn Beck for years now. I was disappointed when his stage show wasn't coming to our area. Then when I heard it would be broadcast live in movie theaters I was thrilled. What a GREAT idea, and it was a lot of fun. I hope AMC does this more often.
