My husband and I and two other couples attended the Twilight extravaganza (all three films in one night). Eclipse was another great addition to the Twilight film saga. The graphics, like those in New Moon, were great. This film showed more of the inter-relationship turmoil between Bella, Edward and Jacob. I truly enjoyed the film, as did the other people in our party.
Like so many other Twilight fans, I was anxiously awaiting the release of New Moon. Well, it was worth the wait. The movie followed the book closer than other book-to-movie films I have seen. The acting was great - very much true to the characters in the book. The few director changes (i.e. Bella's visions of Edward rather than audible ones) were a perfect fit for the movie. I have read some "bad" critiques about the film, but after seeing it, I have come to the conclusion that those critics either a) didn't read the book, b) the movie isn't for their gender or age group (the critic for my local paper is a 60+ male) or c) both. :) I loved the movie and am now anxiously waiting for Eclipse - June 30, 2010!!!
The pairing of DeNiro and Pacino was great (as was expected). These two actors are among my top favorites. The storyline however was predictable and at times slow moving. That said, my husband and I both enjoyed the movie and are glad that we went to see it. I wouldn't say it is one of my favorite movies, but it was good! The twist at the end could have been a lot better by revealing a different character as the perpetrator.
I took my two daughters (7 and 2.5) to see Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery. They both really enjoyed the movie. There were lots of good character lessons that both of my children took in - my 7 year old more than the 2.5 year old - but isn't that to be expected?!... While we thoroughly enjoyed the movie, the intro cartoons were too long... my 2.5 year old started getting very restless after the "Fireman Sam" cartoon. While the "Sushi Pack" cartoon was cute and had a good lesson on bragging, it was a bit too long. I felt that the intro cartoons took away from the Thomas movie, which would have been perfect without any intros! My daughters can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD so they can watch it again and again! Overall, a great movie!!!
I took my two daughters (2.5 and 7) to see Wall-E. My 7 year old loved the movie and it captured her attention throughout the entire film. However my 2 1/2 year old lost interest mid-way, but she really liked the character of Wall-E. The film had great animation and a great lesson for everyone. My older daughter leaned over and said that the reason the people aboard the Axiom were so big was because they made "bad food choices" and were "lazy". On the way home, she (7) was very curious to know if the Earth could become the wasteland that we saw in the film. I took this as a great opening to explain that by doing our part (as we do already - being eco-conscious, recycling, using earth-friendly products, etc.) we could help see to it that what we saw didn't happen. All in all, it was a great film with a very "GREEN" message. We loved all the characters. Congrats to Disney/Pixar who found a way to make Wall-E a lovable mix of E.T. and Short Circuit!
