I knew that MJ was working on a big concert project for London, and I expected to see footage from rehearsals, along with a soundtrack of his music, but I had NO IDEA of the magnitude of the project or that amount of work that had gone into it..... This is an amazing film that shows what a perfectionist he was and how involved he was with every aspect of the shows he did. There is a Jackson 5 retrospective scene that made everyone cry. It was very well done and also showed a lot of MJ in rehearsal, with real audio from the rehearsals... Amazing. Kenny Ortega is very patronizing to Michael in the film, I know he was funding the whole thing, but I think the film shows how he was really pandering to Michael.
This was a cute movie for little kids, cute message about individuality. There were a lot of previews and short films before Spookley that were kind of silly and took too much time. The Fireman Sam film was ok and worthwhile....the others were just filling time.
The Sushi Pack Superheros were ridiculous, a total waste of time, the Thomas film was good, I thought Pierce Brosnan did a great job and a very kid-friendly narration......it was a little slow, but very animated, both of my 5 year old nephews LOVED it. It was definitely a more "extreme" Thomas film, there were more serious "pranks," like when another engine tricks Thomas into crossing a very unsafe bridge.......and Thomas himself exhibits some pretty bad behavior (I thought it was worse than in the other Thomas shows) when he acts on his jealous and envious feelings...but it is all resolved in the end and true to the Thomas style, it teaches a lesson or two along the way.......The kids loved it. Skip the Sushi Pack, it is really mindless. The Fireman Sam preview film was ok, they liked that one..
