I went to this film expecting it to be good because of all the buzz of Heath's performance but I got wayyyy more than I expected if that is at all possible.
So say that Heath Ledger's performance was memorable is a gross understatement. He got so far into this charcacter that I almost forgot who I was looking at. He gave the Joker a face, very dark and uncaring about ANYTHING even himself which was truly tragic to see on screen. The places that he must have had to go for inspiration....just wow.
Now the writing, the screenplay was EXCELLENT very good well rounded story that was never slow at all. Batman was also conflicted in that he really wants to hang up the suit but he doesn't know how, that's where Harvey comes in.
Maggie Gylennhal as Rachel was kinda ehhhhh but I didn't like Katie Holmes in the previous movie either but no big deal. Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine were excellent as usual.
Just go SEE it you will not be disappointed in the least.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
