This movie starts out as a good idea. Not terribly original, but fun. A whole lot more could have been done with this movie, but it doesn't seem like a whole lot of effort was put into the actual story. Overall, it seemed rushed, awkward, and predictable. My two kids (ages 7&9) didn't seem to mind, and are too young to be sensitive to cliche', so they were actually quite entertained. I didn't fall asleep during any part of it myself. However, though it shares a director, it's no "Harry Potter".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
