This is the 2nd 3D movie that I've seen -- the first was Coraline. Watching this film was like a thrilling amusement park ride. I was blown away not only by the visuals but the story. Usually with big budget films like this the visual is great but the story/script is mediocre or vice versa. Avatar excelled on both. This film actually lives up to the hype. I'm telling all my friends to see this.
This is an amazingly moving movie that is well acted (with surprising performances from the unknown lead as well as from Mo'nique & Maria Carey) with a real life story that's overlooked in today's cinema. The emotion is raw and approachable. This is a downbeat story but so VERY uplifting in a tough love way. It was refreshing to see that this story was told.

I'm a die hard fan of the franchise and grew up idolizing the Original Series -- esp, Mr. Spock. This movie exceeded my expectations with a suspenseful plot The action and battle sequences rocked! The characters were well developed -- loyal to the original but with enough twists (Spock & Uhura) to make the familar SO much more interesting. Good casting especially on Scotty and Sulu and giving them (& Chekov) plenty of key scenes to make them relevant. The diehards like me appreciate how Leonard Nimoy doesn't have a simple cameo but a TRUE ROLE. I'm so psyched for the sequel -- BRING ON the KLINGON! Good popcorn movie with loads of eye candy and entertaining substance in this handoff to a next generation.
As a self-declared comic geek I was impressed by how well this movie captured many of the themes from the novel. For the uneducated on Watchmen this is a deep action movie that pokes some satire at the superhero genre itself. For the well educated on Watchmen this is a satisfying adaptation that's loyal to the source material and skillfully dazzles with the CGI and visualization -- especially Dr. Manhattan once he leaves for Mars. The music score and soundtrack fits SO well with the screen. This movies forces you to think!Kudos to Zach...after 300 and this?!? what's next.
