Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. But very, very expensive (costumes, sets, special effects, etc.) The fact that someone approved this production (and the expenditure of alot -- and, it shows, alot -- of money on this insult to intelligent moviegoers) says volumes about why Hollywood is in such trouble. Costume, sets, and special effects do not translate into audiences all by themselves. Plot, script, acting were all execrable. If you do not know what that word means or you do not know why I used it you may be the person who approved this production.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2

Visually stunning, especially in IMAX. Action sequences well done. But changes from books (which have, of course, existed in all of the movies) this time damaged the story's meaning. Particularly omitting Harry's conscious decision to return from death (as opposed to his return without explanation) and, more important, the difference between Voldemort killing himself by his own curse rebounding against himself and Harry overpowering him vastly diminished the moral scope of the work.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Solid advance of the saga

Solid, often dazzling, advance of the plot. Visually superb (especially the travel scenes – though the need for travel never really explained as it was in the book, a minor failing if it is a failing at all). Unavoidably suffers from the lack of the story end that will come in Part 2. The animation of the tale of the three brothers is worth the price of admission alone.
