The movie was as good as I could have hoped it would be. It portrayed Batman (and his adversaries) in a very gritty perspective and it pulled it off. Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent a.k.a. Two-Face) did the job he was supposed to and Heath Ledger (Joker) was every bit as crazy as the commercials made me think he'd be. Even more so, actually. The only person I didn't like was Rachel Dawes (Daws? Doz?) and the only reason I didn't like her was because she was portrayed by Maggie Gyllenhal in this movie. I don't like Maggie Gyllenhal. I don't know why, I just don't like her. But otherwise, the movie was great.
. . . yeah, I kind of even (sort of) like DC comics now.
WARNING: (for overprotective parents) the movie really shows the true colors of a psychopath and doesn't hold back much. And if you're looking for a specific example: In one of the earlier scenes of the movie the Joker does a magic trick involving a pencil and some thug's face/throat. If you think that seeing a movie of this kind would taint your child, by all means, continue sheltering him/her.
