The Dark Knight proves that comic book franchises can be beautiful artwork. Although Christian Bale's performance may not be award-worthy, it is still brings a balance of "badass-ness" and emotional turmoil to the movie in a non-cliche manner. Besides, Heath Ledger's absolutely stunning performance will surely earn an Oscar nomination (if not a win). The Joker will send chills down your spine days after seeing the film. Gary Oldman, Michael Caine & Morgan Freeman make brilliant contributions to the film, outweighing the less-than stellar performance by Maggie Gyllenhall & the poorly formed "Two-Face" played by Aaron Eckhart.
Gotham has never looked better. Definitely worth seeing today!
