Filled with magic, humor, and that inocent kid's style of love for friends and family, Ponyo is a very warm and fun movie. My whole family really loved it, and we laughed a lot. I recomend it to anyone - especially families with younger children. My kids are ages 5 and 7.
WALL-E is well done, animated science fiction! I would tend to agree that the concept of saving the echo system, Corporate government, and consumer mind control are pretty deep concepts that children might not care about, but, like all science fiction, it was a great vessel in telling the story of WALL-E's love for EVE and the amount of effort he would give to just hold EVE's hand.
WALL-E also showed how much one individual can make a difference in life. WALL-E's presence, where ever he went, produced awareness and woke those he touched to the fact that there is more to life than just self. There are interesting people out there to know. There are paths in life that you can decide to take inspite of the difficulties that might come with going against the norm. We all can make a differnence in life.
Yeah, my 3 year old was bored of the movie from time to time, but he was interested enough to stay in his chair and be quiet. I'd say that that is a great sign since boredom normally brings treks to the bathroom every 3 minutes. On the other hand, my 6 year old daughter didn't say a word, and boredom for her brings dancing and attempts to draw other viewer's attention to herself. To me, WALL-E lived up to all of my expectations and more. A+, 5 stars. Excellent Science Fiction!
