WOW--3D really pops

Sure, there were times the 3D didn't work as well, but for the most part, it was amazing. This is such a beautiful movie anyway, and the 3D was especially good with inanimate objects, like Beast's castle or the woods around it. Just beautiful--so glad we went.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I really enjoyed the movie, but was not awestruck as I was in the first. Depp was as usual fantastic, and I liked seeing Barbossa's character becoming more central to the plot. Penelope Cruz is a wonderful addition, and I'm glad to see Mr. Gibbs is still along for the ride. The mermaids are amazing, too.
However, the fight scenes were hard to follow in IMAX, and the grand, sweeping vistas and large sea battles of the earlier movies, which would have been phenomenal in IMAX, were missing. This movie was all brawls--but again, it was fun.
Another problem--why in the world is the movie in Hawaii? Everyone knows the Fountain of Youth is in Florida--and the charts Cap't Jack Sparrow stole at the end of World's End showed that. So how did they end up in mountains? The last time I checked, there's nothing resembling a mountain in Florida. There should have been some sort of backstory to explain how the charts were wrong, or there was more than one fountain, or something!
I will definitely own this one, too. However, I probably won't go see it again, and I will suggest to friends that they NOT see it in IMAX or 3D.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm iffy on Tim Burton (LOVED Nightmare & Beetlejuice, liked okay Corpse Bride & Edward Scissorhands, LOATHED Charlie & the Chocolate Factory), but wanted to see this. I am SO glad I did, especially in IMAX 3D. This movie is amazing--lush to the eye, fantastic story writing, great characters. This is a definite keeper--one of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This was a fabulous movie. Our almost 4 y-o loved it, and was never bored or distracted with it, while we were just as entranced. We weren't too sure about this one based on previews, but hey, it's a Pixar, so we knew we'd at least enjoy it. The story is great, the characters are wonderful, and the whole thing just has heart. We'll probably go back, and our son wants to go see it again right away!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
