My husband and I saw this on a Midnight prescreen. The theater was full of young students that were rambunctious during the previews and I was worried we would have to cut out if it got too out of hand. Well, the theater was almost silent the entire movie. I think everyone was pulled right in and kept on their seat. That’s a true testament to the power of this film. It was a lot of fun.
After being disappointed by The Guru this had me laughing. However, I don’t think I would have been as thrilled had I not been so disappointed by the previous movie that I saw. My husband actually fell asleep in this one. There were several people really laughing in this one and hat made it more enjoyable I would watch it again on DVD. I loved Anne’s wardrobe and overall it’s a very good comedy.
Barely anyone laughed my husband and I laughed and many scenes because we understood his humor. It does come across as juvenile but a comedy is supposed to be a little juvenile and funny it’s a PG 13 rating after all. We weren’t blown out of the water. But the sets looked nice the costumes were great. It could have been much more. However, on a SECOND VIEWING Im sure there will be things in the background you wouldn’t notice on the first screening that would be my motivation for watching it. I would go but don’t have big expectations for side splitting laughter.
Look, I found the idea and premise of the storyline to be innovative. I wasn’t expecting the vain of a horror film. I was expecting pretty much what I saw. I think he is a real genius and therefore I was one of the few who was very pleased.
