Pulse-pounding Action

I grew up watching reruns of the original Star Trek, and although I would not classify myself as a Trekker, I think my exposure to the original made this "reinterpretation" of Roddenberry's series all the more enjoyable. Exhillarating action, not too graphically violent, and definitely an homage to the original. I never would have guessed that that was Eric Bana ("The Other Boleyn Girl", "The Hulk", "Lucky You" "Munich") as Nero. Kudos to the make-up team!! Be prepared for a roller coaster of a ride and enjoy every moment of it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Smart Homage to Greatness

Though not the greatest movie ever made, it qualifies as a strongly-recommended movie. Family-friendly reunion of the greatness of Alan Arkin with Steve Carell ("Little Miss Sunshine"), I found this movie to be filled with fun, thrills, action and sweetness. Steve Carell fans should enjoy his performance: He's sweet, lovable, suaveina geeky way, and embodies Maxwell Smart as if he were born to play the role. Anne Hathaway is stunning, vibrant, playfully athletic and scorchingly sexy. Dwayne"The Rock" Johnson makes for fun eye candy. This movie felt like it was a valentine to the series, and for those of us who loved and adored the show will get a kick out of this movie. The fact that the show's creators, Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, were consultants to this movie showed me that they gave their stamp of approval to the project. I plan to see this movie again, knowing that I missed portions when I busy laughing at others. I felt like everyone enjoyed making this movie and that warmth popped off the screen at me. WORTHWHILE VIEW!!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
