I went to an early premiere of this movie expecting a humerous romp similar to Judd Apatow's (who I am a huge fan of, by the way) other movies. Heavy humor, light drama. What I got was completely unexpected. Without ruining anything in the plot, I'll just say that the movie was really touching and dramatic. It was definately funny, and I laughed a lot during the screening, but I found myself caring deeply about the characters as well. The situations that they faced had a very real feeling to them, and the acting was brilliant. Overall, I would give the movie 5 out of 5. Funny People was amazing, and I plan to see it again once it comes out in theaters.
As a huge fan of anime, I know a lot about movies based off of shows. Generally speaking the movies are not that great. I hoped that this movie would be different, since I adore Bleach as a series. I was very pleasantly surprised. The movie and a well developed story line, great, animation, great music, and, of course, the characters I know and love. My mother (who knows nothing about anime) came to the movie as well. She loved it as well, and gave it a rave review. I would reccomend the first Bleach Movie to anybody, as it is enjoyable on many different levels to both young and old. Arigato ^_^
