I think it was much better than the first movie. Jacob and Edward were amazing in their roles. It was action packed and the action scenes were longer and powerful. The movie is entertaining even if you are not a fan. Go see it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I'm a Tim Burton fan who liked this movie. I was surprised to see so much action. The animation was amazing. The recreation of animal-like characters was smart and inventive. The story is simple but is heartfelt and in this days that we continue to fight a war and everyone is preaching to "think green" the movie is a grim reminder of how the earth will end up if we dont get our act together. The topic of what it means to have a "soul" is to me interesting but in our busy life some people who may have not liked the movie are probably thinking that having a soul is useless and a silly topic in a movie. I think the movie deserves more credit than some are giving it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Happening

I read a review which stated that the movie was simple, did not challenge the imagination, and it was plain borring since nothing was happening other than people constantly killing themselves. It is a matter of perspective, if you just want to be tricked or scared then maybe this isn't for you. If you don't mind the predictability but care about the overall message then go see it. If something were to attack us, as is biological warfare (and by the way I am not giving anything away in the movie) it may not be that complicated, it may be a disease, something found in nature. There may be nothing tricky or scary chasing after us but the results would be devastating. As I see it, this movie brings our mortality to mind and it reminds some of us that we are not that powerful against nature. We are, if anything, weak creatures who are very easily scared when faced with something we don't understand. I think the constant reminder of our mortality and our uselessness is what some people resented about the movie. You have to get Night Shyamalan to understand this movie. The one thing I can agree on with people who are giving negative reviews is that the actors appear to be overacting, funny we know it is a movie with actors playing a part but we want to be fooled into believing it is real, hence we want the actors to "act natural" Maybe, Night directed his actors to overact to give them a very naive childlike persona. If this is what he was trying to do then he accomplished this maybe just to once again remind us that we are very much children inside and some fears can't be outgrown- no matter how tough you are. A 230 lb. man who is 6'3" can die from a bee sting if allergic. What does that say about our place on this earth. If we don't take care of it we are going to be facing devastation and extiction.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
