New Moon was the first movie in a long time that made me want to go see it again and again. The story doesn't dissapoint and the characters get to have more screen time to develop their stories....and if you haven't read the books, then this movie leaves you with a cliff hanger wanting more. Guess we'll have to wait and see if June 2010 brings it with Eclipse too.
I hate to say it, but this movie failed to live up to the preivous films. It still had all the special effects and a good story line, but the chemistry was lacking. The most annoying thing for me was that they replace Rachel Wiez with Maria Bello (who I really like as an actress) and then made Maria try and sound like Rachel, so even if you wanted to forget that she wasn't the original Eve you couldn't. The should have waited until Rachel was ready to do the movie herself in my opinion. On a positive note, the other actors gave good performances and the chemistry worked well with them. Jonathan added the much necessary humor :)
This is the way to make a movie based on comics...all the elements needed for a summer blockbuster and pleasing enough for fans of the comics.... p.s. wait for the ending credits, there's a scene that will surely make fans smile
I am not sure how I feel about this new movie. I just saw it. I think that if you are looking for a movie that is full of action and truer to the original series you'd be better off with the previous film version. Yet there was something quite comforting about this movie...it was like a 2 hour X-files episode focused on who Mulder and Scully are now. It was good, don't get me wrong...it just felt like a beggining.
This is the perfect movie to take the family to. Everyone from the 3 year old to the 50 year old will love it. There's enough content in there for everyone. It's the animated E.T. of this generation. There will be tears and cheers. So grab the family and friends and head out for some fun.
I have to admit that I wasn't too interested in seeing this movie based on the trailer, but then I saw a new trailer two days before it opened and thought that it might be worth it, after all Will and Charlize couldn't be all that bad right. The movie is well thought out, believeable enough and had some surprises. Definately worth seeing...both sexes will enjoy!
I was really excited about seeing this movie because it seemed like M.Night Chyamalan had gotten back to his rooots. The trailer looked promising. Unfortunately, I found this to be one of the most violently disturbing movies in a while...with lots of unnecessary graphic violence showed on the screen. I understand his need for showing some of the graphic images so that the audience would have that horrified feeling, but then he should have just left the rest of the movie to our imagination. His point and message about Taking better care of our Environment and that human beings are our own worst enemies, is well taken...but lost amongst the violent images, that seemed more like a slasher flick. *Important note: If you were part of 9/11 in NYC the opening of the movie may be very difficult for you to watch and you might want to skip this movie.
