I'm a movie buff who continually looks for Oscar nomination potentials and this is one. If you're someone who enjoys the realism of an intense drama, it is definitely for you. From the technical details of the way it was shot between time periods, to the frustration of wanting to know what will happen to the children, I was riveted to the screen for the entire 111 minutes. Kristin Scott Thomas was wonderful as the eager reporter wanting to reveal a story and tell it with the gravity of revelation she felt it deserved. Seeing as the details unfold, her compassion and need to find out Sarah's path was so touching. You will need some tissues for this one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

You can never go wrong with Sigourney Weaver who was born for comedy. Kristen Bell was funny and heartwarming. Jaime Lee Curtis, always pleases. And Odette Yustman the perfect love to hate character. Grab your friends and enjoy!
I was at first, disappointed that Katie Holmes was not in the movie. I enjoy returning characters. But Maggie Gyllenhaal was a great replacement. Lot of action - a bit long. I thought a great place to stop would have been once Dent became two-face, leaving us with an appetite for the next installment. Some areas were hard to follow as so many things were going on at one time. Overall, enjoyable and definitely worth the ticket price. Heath Ledger delivered as all the hype promised.
Before I saw the movie, my impression was that it would be a little scary, and maybe a little gory. Definitely true. It was also very thought provoking. M Night Shyamalan created an interesting and innovative look at the seemingly very popular end of world theme movies.
