Dime store Philosophy with great special effects. Action scenes have all done before and the actors seemed stuck in an indecisive screenwriters never ending 3rd act. Would have succeeded if it didn't try to be more than it needed to be, a decent action film with a sympathetic hero, and evil villian. Performances were fine, but Maggie Gylenhal acted and looked horribly throughout. Why would Batman love a forty year old, out of shape, annoying woman?
Another summer film ruined by high expectations. Wait for the DVD.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Confusing Direction

Not nearly as good as the Ny-Times seems to think it is.
The script is intelligent and thought provoking, but the direction is at times unintentionaly laughable (wait for the U2 cue, are you kidding?).
The Director does a suprisingly poor job of creating sense of place, both through overly americanized music, poor editing, and his/her own infatuation with the interior of scenes rather than concentrating on how they relate to the film as a whole
By the end, the "revelation" seems from another film entirely.
Will most likely be remade, non too better, by a hollywood studio soon.
Nonetheless, worth seeing as it challenges you to follow along rather than pandering, which is all to rare these days, and at worst, deserving of applause.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
