The thing that was striking to me is that America must go outside this country in order to get qualified people such as engineers etc. in order to fill the needs at our high tech companies. We need to reverse that trend. The movie also made me extremely thankful that I live in a community that values education and I feel confident that we have great schools here. Overall it did a good job of bringing awareness to how broken our educational system is in our larger cities.
Went with a group of 10 people and all of us left feeling sick and depressed. There are better ways of getting the message out about this type of human abuse than an "in your face" movie about the plight of human suffering to this degree. The answer is not bringing this to the attention of the masses but changing the consciousness of those living in this type of world. If you want to perpetuate the problem I recommend going to see it, otherwise save yourself hours of depression and stay away.
This movie started out great. Very funny in the first half of the movie but then trails off to a trickle at the end. Adam Sandler is his usual comic brillant self. From a pure entertainment viewpoint very well worth seeing, but if you expect more, this movie is sure to disappoint. I agree with another reviewers assessment that Sandler's comedy is not your usual run of the mill slapstick. If you are not on the edge as far as comedy goes, then stay away. Worth seeing, you will only be mildly disapointed.
