Funny but too violent for smaller children

I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. It is too much of a formula: the accidental hero, believe in yourself etc. etc.. but we have to remember this is for children. That said, the movie is too violent and scary for smaller children. The martial arts scenes morphed into high explosion battles (in one case even nuclear). Way over the top and scary.
The movie is very funny, though. The audience was loudly laughing and clapping at the end of the movie. I was entertained not bored which is a lot to say when going to an animated movie not done by Pixar.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
