It's Fantastic!!!

I'd like to write a 10 page, in depth rave review of this film, but I'll be kind. Good acting, great special effects and visuals, does everything I want a scary film to do and everyone I know loved it as much as I did. If you haven't seen the film, please don't write a review because you don't approve of horror movies or whatever. It's America! You can go to any movie you want to. This is a great Horror/Werewolf movie. Way cool plot twists! and the ending.....it's respectiful to the original film but a wild, different story and Oscar level period piece. Great character developement and kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well Done Grade B Horror Movie

Good horror movie. Impressive acting from the whole cast--wow--Lucas Black has grown up and reminds me of Henry Fonda as a young man. Critics: This is a "Grade B Horror" movie. Not a "message" flick. Just entertainment. Story is both familiar and unique. Enoy it..
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Very Good, Deep Movie

To all the "inttelectuals" who always have to say "It wasn't the book," No it wasn't. It was a movie. I usually read the book if I'm impressed by the movie. So do many others. (And I read other than just the movies I see.) They made a movie called "The Bible". Did anyone go to that movie expecting the whole book? There is nothing more boring than anyone who is over 21 and expects any movie to be a carbon copy of the book. Closest thing we've had, recently, was The Road. But still, no, it wasn't "the book." The Book would be that rectangle thing with words prined on paper that we buy at a 'book'-store. A movie is a different thing. Thank you. This is a great movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Baptist Sci Fi--I should have known..

I should have known it was another Christian Supremist movie. Just another rehashing of the end of the world/ being rescued by a new mesiah-Road Warrior/Jesus type. Oh yes, the book that lead to the wars that desgtroyed the planet will save us and the long suffering, righteous good guy. Such an old, tired plot. I was just killing time and I have to say, my time certinly was "killed" in this dog of a quasi-sci fi movie. If you want a much better "end of the world" movie, see The Road. No rockets or "pretty girls". Just a big, nasty dead mess.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Back on the Cross

The final words Mel says in the preview for this movie are roughly : "Are you the person being nailed to the cross or are you one of the people pounding in the nails". (I think he was nailing some bad guy to a wall as he said that line.) I saw the previews during the movie Law Abiding Citizen which was just the rehashing of the same story line. The auidence booed and hissed at his never ending Christian-Supremists extremism. And he's looking really strung out. Let's face it: When the auidience is booing the preview to the movie.....
No, I do not recommend this movie.

how man ways can I say neandrathal, dumb, backwards? This movie is the dumbing of Amerika and as close to a 13 year old boys vision of being an adult as ever put on screen. Of course, we have a word for a 13 year old in a man's body: Convict. Cookie cutter, thug of the hip hop netherworld. "I'm beating the other guy to death" for love. ????
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Exactly why did we need to "know"?

And can you imaginge what a pair of bunny rabbits would do to a virgin ecological enviroment? I was only one of many "boos" at the vague, pretty but bland, really, final scene. Anyone know why a super-advanced alien culture couldn't have just reached out to intelligent humans, explain the facts and openly plan and do what the story's about. Very dumb aliens--The Borg would be more fun. And moving to a planet without cable? Please. Get real.

Throw a Brick at the Screen!

I have never seen a movie that had fantastic special effects that were as equally impressive as the story was annoying, insulting and just plain bad. One small example was the murdering super "hero" beating and graphically killing a 8-9 month pregnant woman. (She was pregnant with his baby.) The end of this movie would have been good only if all the superheros had been killed. I could write pages of why this movie was bad--I don't recomend renting it. Pretty on the outside but rotten to the core inside.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Surprise, Suprise.

I thought the movie might be "amusing". I was very surprised to find it a great comedy/satire. I was more surprised to find some actors I've grown tired of with their recent movies and other things, in supporting roles. Actors that usually hog the movie and scenes playing supporting roles where they actually shined and had me laughing and snickering at the lampooning they were doing of Hollywood. And other viewer polls have some "reviews" done that are negative based on news stories done by people who haven't watched the movie--don't listen. The film does the OPPISITE of what they are accused of--it couldn't be more PC. (Panda lovers may be upset.) The "R" word is used to put down superficiality and discrimination.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Incomprehensibly Bad!

It should have an R ratting for all the murders and mutilations. And guess what--It's the star superhero who does the murders and the mutilations some of which are horrific. You just don't see Superman throwing people off buildings to their death when he's mad or cutting off people's heads or the horror he does to two men in jail, And then there is no story line that in coherrent. It's like they wrote it as they were going along and were really high or drunk. Very bad. One of my all times worst movie ever made list. There were holes in this movie's story that were the size of a meteror crater.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
