As a child who grew up reading the Chronicles of Narnia and an adult who is still reading them, I must say that I underestimated this movie. It is a powerful rendition of the story, and the animation/special effects are magnaminous. I took my children (ages 4 and 6) to see it, and they loved it. My six year old particularly enjoyed it. Of course, they are not easily scared. I do agree with former reviewers that there is a great deal of violence - though not much gore. That might be an issue for some young children, but the message is so strong that it is definitely worth considering!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
