Beat Expectations

I took my wife to the Lux Level to see this on Valentine's day as this was at the top of her list. I've always liked Rachel McAdams and didn't have an opinion of Channing Tatum. This was a really well done TRUE story of never letting love go and exceeded expectations for me. McAdams and Tatum seize the material and make you believe they are the ones for each other. Jessica Lange, with 1 key scene, takes the movie to a higher level. It was breezy, funny, tender, quick, and made you want to be part of their world and really root for them. All in All, well done!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fun Night Out

We went to "The Bounty Hunter" at Lux Level with friends on Saturday night and it was a fun night all around.
Great company, good food and drinks, and the movie was very enjoyable. Funny, action packed, great supporting "quirky" characters, and Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler made for a great couple, (not sticky sweet-believable aggravated with each other and knew they had each other's back). I would recommend this for a date night movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Diane Lane's movie for sure

My wife thought this was a very good movie and the tearjerker plot got to her. I thought there was something that didn't connect.
I have to say that Diane Lane was luminescent and this was her film. The location was beautiful. Richard Gere was good, but I didn't connect with his pain.
I also didn't see a deep relationship building between them over the course of the movie.
Everytime I did feel like it was hitting the schmaltz meter a little too hard, George C. Wolfe's direction would catch something that made me get involved again.
I wonder if I read the book first, would I have felt their connection.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
