Great special effects but WOW was the story line WEAK. In fact, it was plain ridiculous!! You find yourself sitting there thinking "they'd never do that" or "everybody knows that would never happen." The story ends with the certain end of the earth, tectonic plates moving and massive global destruction, complete with tsunamis. Then, in a matter of a month or so, there are nice sunny blue skies and calm seas. To me, it was a stupid movie.
I found the movie to be a very emotional experience. It is both sad and shocking that something this tragic actually happened. It is a testament to the strength and character of the human race. What's even more sad to me is that mass genocide is still occuring on this planet, 68 years later.
So what's with the title?? I had to get out the dictionary. Anyway, as a LOOOONG time Bond fan, I 'll have to admit that this movie left me emotionless. Was I the only one who left the theatre thinking, "What was that all about?" There was lots of action, which I like, but it all seemed so disconnected. It was more like a fireworks display. And then there's the killings. WOW! Maybe we should change his name from "James" to "The Terminator". What an assassin he's become. I lost count of how many people he killed. As a guy who remembers the smoothness and finesse of Sean Connery and the wit and timing of Roger Moore, this movie left me very disappointed. It's a video game with live actors.
